Rising artist and multi-platinum producer Pkolo is stepping into a bold new chapter with the release of his latest single, “Wishlist.” Known for his accomplishments behind the boards, Pkolo now brings his voice to the forefront, delivering a record that reflects both his journey and his vision for the future.
Born in Pétion-Ville, Pkolo’s story is rooted in perseverance, reinvention, and ambition. After relocating to the United States, he earned the nickname “Pkolo” during his time at Hamilton Middle School a name inspired by classmates comparing him to Piccolo from Dragon Ball Z. What once began as teasing eventually became identity, purpose, and fuel for his rise. Today, the name represents resilience, confidence, and transformation.
Musically, Pkolo draws inspiration from legendary creatives including Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Dr. Dre, and Timbaland. While he first established himself as a multi-platinum producer with accolades in the film and music world, his transition into becoming a recording artist feels both natural and overdue. “Wishlist” marks a defining moment in that evolution, blending cinematic production, introspective storytelling, and lyrical ambition into one powerful release.
More than just a song, “Wishlist” is a reflection of manifestation, hunger, and the pursuit of something greater. Through layered production and emotionally-driven lyrics, Pkolo explores the reality of turning dreams into existence a message deeply connected to his own life experience.
Beyond the music, Pkolo wants listeners to understand one thing: it’s never too late to start. His journey from Haiti to the United States, from being underestimated to becoming an accomplished producer and emerging artist, stands as proof that persistence and belief can reshape any narrative.
At the center of his movement is Soundplus Records, Pkolo’s independently owned label and creative powerhouse. Currently valued at an estimated $1.5 million, Soundplus Record LLC continues to expand its footprint with a growing catalog connected through Warner Chappell Music. The label has also partnered on releases through EMPIRE, further solidifying its presence in the independent music space.
Recent releases under the Soundplus/EMPIRE umbrella include:
• Big Cre — “Let Me See”
• Dsm Cire — “Slide”
• Theplugdino — “Money Menace”
• Deo — “Loving You”
Pkolo is also developing the next generation of talent through mentorship and production, including rising producers Jathan and Zodiak, who continues to emerge as Pkolo’s standout protégés. Jathan also contributed production work to “Wishlist.”
